Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of the Lava Money mobile app and the lavamoney.io website (together, the "Service"), provided by LavaMesh LLC ("we," "us"). By using the Service, you agree to these terms.

Lava Money is a personal budgeting and net-worth tracking tool. It helps you view, categorize, and understand your own financial data, whether entered manually, imported from a CSV, or linked from a real bank, card, or investment account through Plaid. The sample accounts and transactions you can load to look around are fictional.

Lava Money is not a bank, is not a money transmitter, and does not move, hold, or have custody of your money. We don't initiate payments, transfers, trades, or any transaction on your behalf. Every number you see is either data you entered yourself or a read-only reflection of your own linked accounts.

Lava Money is not financial, tax, or investment advice. Budgets, "usual" ranges, weekly reviews, projections, and any suggested numbers (such as the budget proposed from your history) are calculated from your own data using stated rules. They are not personalized advice, and not a guarantee of future results. Investment balances and holdings are shown as your institution reports them; they are not a valuation or a recommendation to buy, hold, or sell anything.

There is no sign-up or login for Lava Money. Your data lives on your device. See the Privacy Policy for the full explanation of what that means, including for linked accounts. You're responsible for keeping your device secure, since anyone with access to your unlocked device has access to the app's data.

If you choose to link a real account, that connection is established through Plaid, a third-party service. Plaid's own terms and privacy policy govern how it handles your credentials and the connection itself: plaid.com/legal. You can unlink an account at any time in the app, which revokes that connection.

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or interfere with the Service's normal operation.
• Use the Service to access or attempt to access accounts that aren't yours.

The Service is provided "as is." We don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any calculation, categorization, projection, or review it produces is accurate for your situation. Balances, transactions, and holdings come from your bank or brokerage through Plaid and can be late, incomplete, or wrong at the source. You're responsible for checking anything you rely on for an actual financial decision against your institution's own records.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, LavaMesh LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including any financial decision made based on information the Service displays.

We may update the Service or these terms over time. Continuing to use the Service after an update means you accept the revised terms. Material changes will be noted with an updated effective date above.

You can stop using the Service at any time by deleting the app. If you have linked banks, first use Settings, "Remove banks from our server", so the connections are revoked and the server record is deleted right away. Deleting the app does not do that by itself. We may suspend or discontinue the Service, in whole or part, at our discretion.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
